FAM: Co. Kerry with KCB
Updated: Apr 11, 2021
In October 2019, I was invited to County Kerry by Kerry Convention Bureau to showcase the emerald island. If you have never been to the South of Ireland before, you are missing out on its natural charm, beautiful landscapes and the best hospitality the country has to offer. Around every corner is a warm smile, in every restaurant is delicious traditional food and around every bend is incredible scenery. Here are some of the reasons why you should be taking your guests across the water;
Killarney has more hotel beds than anywhere else in Ireland, other than Dublin
There are 7 stunning 5* hotels in Killarney all with exceptional facilities and some of the best views in the whole of Ireland
Ease of access from London and international destinations to Cork, Shannon and Belfast
Located within the Ring of Kerry, County Kerry is very popular with tourists and a destination with stunning nature trails and hikes close by. Local activities include jaunting, beer tasting, a visit to J.M Reidys for cocktails and live music, yoga and nature walks overlooking MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountain range, and much much more
The Wild Atlantic Way is the first long-distance driving route in Ireland taking you around the South and South West coast
Whilst in County Kerry I was lucky enough to stay at Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare and Cahernane House in Killarney where we experienced axe throwing, enjoyed afternoon tea by the lake at Dromqiunna Manor, got shipped out on a water raft and RIB boat experience whilst looking for seals at Parksnilla Resort & Spa, beer taste overlooking some of the best scenes on the Wild Atlantic Way, take a jaunt through Killarney national park which lead to traditional butter making and traditional Irish dance show and finally, and watch in awe the spectacle that is Riverdance at the Killarney Convention Centre. Our hosts, Becky Hargrove and Fiona O'Donoghue brought so much fun and heart to our trip and if you need some local experts, this is the duo to call. Check out their website www.kerryconventionbureau.com and fall in love with Kerry, just like I did.
